Newaygo Library Service Area
• City of Newaygo
• Brooks Township
• Garfield Township that is within the Newaygo Public School District

Library cards are only to be used by the person whose name is on the card. They are not family cards.
​You must present the card to check out items from the library.

If  you live in our Service Area

If you are an Adult 

  • Bring a valid Michigan driver’s license or Michigan ID with your current address to the library.
  • Fill out our registration card. ​​

If you are a minor (under 18 years old)

  • Bring your parent/legal guardian to the library.
  • Parent/legal guardian must have a Michigan driver’s license or Michigan ID.  The ID must have  their current address on it.
  • Parent/legal guardian must fill out the registration card information for you.

If  you do  not live in our Service Area

Non-Resident Card

  • Applicant must have a Michigan driver’s license or Michigan ID with a current address.
  • This card will cost $48 for one year or $12 per 3 months.
  • You will be limited to materials available in our building—no Lakeland Cooperative borrowing, And no MeL borrowing.
  • You will have access to Libby and Hoopla electronic materials.

IF YOU ARE A STUDENT AT NEWAYGO PUBLIC SCHOOLS GRADES 3 – 12

In order to provide students of Newaygo Public Schools access to library books and other materials,
​Newaygo Library offers two types of FREE library cards:

Option 1 – Student Card for NPS students living within the Newaygo Library Service Area

  • Student must provide proof of school enrollment and current legal address and complete registration form.
  • Card use is limited to Newaygo Area District Library materials only, and includes access to downloadable and electronic databases.
  • Students may check out two (2) items. If an item is damaged or lost, the student may resume borrowing privileges when the charges are paid. 
  • The card may be converted to a full service card if a parent or legal guardian accompanies the child to the library and registers the child according to the guidelines within the Lakeland Library Cooperative Patron Registration Policy.

Option 2 – No Fee Non Resident Card For NPS Student Living Outside Any Library Service Area

  • Student must provide proof of school enrollment and current legal address and complete registration form.
  • Card is valid for one year.
  • Card use is limited to Newaygo Area District Library materials only. This does not include downloadable and electronic resources.
  • Students may check out two (2) items. If an item is damaged or lost, the student may resume borrowing privileges when the fine is paid.

If you live in an area with no contracted library service, Newaygo Library welcomes you to become a patron of the Newaygo Library. We offer an annual non-resident library card available to purchase for $48 or $12 per 3 months. For the price of less than three hardcover books, you will have annual access to thousands of books, books on CDs, DVDs, magazines, Libby, Overdrive and Hoopla electronic materials, and items from the library’s “More Than Books” collection.

If you have a card at another library that is a member of the Lakeland Library Cooperative you can check out materials at our library unless you have unpaid (greater than $10) fees on your record.
