This program was developed and taught in a traditional “in-class” setting, and Newaygo Library is excited to offer it in the Library.
This is a 5 Session Program, with the class meeting at Newaygo Library on Thursdays: 10/21, 10/28, 11/4, 11/11 and 11/18.
We have space for up to 10 children, Grades 3 – 5.
Please plan on attending all 5 sessions!
The program goals include:
  1. Drawing a story’s “cover art” (simulation) to enhance fine arts education, and to know the steps an illustrator goes through to create a cover art painting that tells a story on the book’s cover.
  2. Encouraging students to appreciate ownership of their creativity in drawing and writing.
  3. Learning the process of creating a story from development of ideas in an outline, re-writing to completion including binding finished project if available.
  4. A watercolor painting.
Space is limited! RSVP here: CHILDREN’S DRAWING ILLUSTRATION or call Newaygo Library at 231-652-6723.
AGAIN – Please plan on attending all 5 sessions!
This program is funded in part by the Michigan Council for Arts & Cultural Affairs.
