Still Time To Do Your Census

Filling out the Census is very important!

  • Your info is kept confidential.
  • Funding for our community, such as public safety and roads, are partly calculated from population.

We need everyone counted.

Please urge family and friends to complete their census survey too.

NADL Re-Opening – Phase 1

Monday, June 15, we will begin taking calls to schedule appointments for curbside pick-up:

  • Pick-ups must be scheduled
  • No patron/library staff face to face interaction at this time
  • Library staff must follow social distancing rules while in the library thus limiting the number of curbside pick-up time slots due to limited staffing
  • At this time all requests must be placed with us over the telephone or by email
  • We are not receiving regular deliveries from other libraries yet so hold requests will only be taken for items found in the Newaygo Area Distric Library. You can search the catalog for NADL items at: https://sam.llcoop.org/patroninfo. Sign into your account and limit your search to Newaygo Area District Library location. If an item says “On Shelf” at NADL, you may request it when you call us by phone
  • A maximum number of 5 items may be held for each library card

Please call 231-652-6723 or email info@newaygolibrary.org.
We will be taking requests:

  • Monday: Friday 10:30 am – 4:30 pm
  • Saturday: 10:30 am – 12:00 pm

MI Diseases

First West Nile virus activity of 2020 detected in Michigan

West Nile virus is carried by certain types of mosquitoes in Michigan. It is a potentially serious disease that can affect anyone, but people over age 60 are more likely to get the more severe form of WNV illness. The risk of bites from infected mosquitoes is highest for people who work or play outdoors. Wearing insect repellent when outdoors (especially at dawn and dusk) is important to prevent WNV.
